"Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body."
"Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body."
There's more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, "The two become one." Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever—the kind of sex that can never "become one." There is a sense in which sexual sins are different from all others. In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modeled love, for "becoming one" with another. Or didn't you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don't you see that you can't live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body.
1 Corinthians 6:18 The Message
"Paul deals with another type of sexual immorality. Claiming the right of Christian freedom, some of the Corinthian men are making use of prostitutes, arguing that this is a natural use of the body. Paul considers it incompatible for a man who is a part of the body of Christ to unite himself with a prostitute. Since his body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and he has been bought with a price, a Christian man ought to honor God with his body." www.abu.nb.ca/courses
This was Paul of Tarsus, in the Holy Bible, who wrote to the Christian believers in Corinth. They were gentiles that became followers of Jesus Christ, dated to early 54 AD.
The Holy Bible said that we are all created by God, therefore, sexual immorality as a sin applies to all mankind. Believers and unbelievers are summoned by God to be aware of this sin and there are consequences to our bad choices in life. The choices are ours, but the Judgment belongs to God. God gave us instructions for the right way to live. It is His will to save us from damnation, but it's our choice if we reject His commands. Our choices will lead us to our final destiny, eternal life with God in His Kingdom of heaven, or without Him which is the worst of worse places down the bottomless pit. Don't be deceived by this world. Know God and His nature through His Son, Jesus Christ, before it's too late. Before terminal diseases, accidents (fatal & crippling), calamities get your bodies knocked down and knocked out. Don't believe the lies that just being good will give you the ticket to heaven, because it won't. Don't believe that only criminals or murderers go to hell, because sin is sin. You don't have to be a criminal to sin. God said we are all sinners and no one is good. As sinners, we are far away from God. Your wealth won't save you, nor your popularity, nor your beauty, nor your religiousity, nor giving to your charities or donations, nor your Activism or creating Foundation for this and for that; nor your humanitarian relief missions --- they won't open God's heaven for you when you die.
As Romans 3:10 said: (The Message)
There's nobody living right, not even one,
nobody who knows the score, nobody alert for God.
They've all taken the wrong turn;
they've all wandered down blind alleys.
No one's living right;
I can't find a single one.
Their throats are gaping graves,
their tongues slick as mudslides.
Every word they speak is tinged with poison.
They open their mouths and pollute the air.
They race for the honor of sinner-of-the-year,
litter the land with heartbreak and ruin,
Don't know the first thing about living with others.
They never give God the time of day.
This makes it clear, doesn't it, that whatever is written in these Scriptures is not what God says about others but to us to whom these Scriptures were addressed in the first place! And it's clear enough, isn't it, that we're sinners, every one of us, in the same sinking boat with everybody else? Our involvement with God's revelation doesn't put us right with God. What it does is force us to face our complicity in everyone else's sin.Get to know your Creator, start with Jesus Christ as He is the Way, the Truth and the Light to God's WISDOM and TRUTH.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23
God's gift to us which is His Son, is the only way to heaven. This is God's Will and plan for us. For us to know His Son Jesus Christ who will show us the Truth about God and His nature, and who will light our way to the knowledge of God and His unconditional love for us. You will never know God's love until you come to His Son. You will not know your true purpose as to why you are here on earth until you accept Jesus as your Lord and your Savior, until you can admit to yourself that you are a sinner and need a Savior.
Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn't, and doesn't, wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death (on the cross) when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn't been so weak, we wouldn't have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him. Romans 5:8 The Message
